Outside Tap query

Anonymous user 14/03/2024 - 2.36 PM

If an outside tap is already fitted with a double check valve in it then will it require any additional valves for the pipework inside for safety/prevent freezing?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

No does not require any additional double check valve inside the property. For freezing purpose you can add insulation to pipework if pipework is in cold area that is not heated i.e. Garage, outhouse.

you should fit another valve inside so you can isolate and drain outside tap to prevent freezing.

Double check isn’t required but must only use this tap when you can’t install a double check on Pipework internally
