Stain on the bathroom floor. Advice on how to clean it.

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.35 PM

There is a stain on the bathroom floor near the bathroom entrance next to the bathtub (approx size 25 cm). I have tried cleaning it with all-purpose cleaner, bleach, and baking soda and the stain doesn't go. Any advice on how this can be cleaned or will I need to go with replacing the Linoleum(Vinyl Roll) in the Bathroom? I am unable to attach a photo for the same.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi! Wish I had better news for you but im afraid sheet vinyl is almost purpose built to take damage and stains easily but also be replaced cheap and easy. If it was me I'd just replace it

HG sticker remover tends to get stubborn stains off. Always patch test on a non visible part of the floor just to see that it doesn’t damage the flooring

My guess with it being a bathroom is mould on the underside of the vinyl. It's a replacement that's required and make sure it gets sealed with silicone next time

If you have some spare off cut of vinyl place it over the stained area and match it up with the pattern as good as possible, once done take a sharp Stanley and cut through both layers of vinyl around affected area. Remove old vinyl prep the floor underneath for adhesion and stick new cut out in its place. Job done 👍🏼
