Removing part of front garden wall to widen driveway access
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.46 PM
I have a low walled front garden, although most of the area in front of the house is paved (regular paving slabs), there is a garden border along the wall. There is a fairly wide gap in the wall with dropped kerb on approach and upto two cars can park in front of the house. However, I want to widen the gap in the wall by an extra few feet to allow both cars to access in and out easily. What type of tradesperson is best to tackle this job? What do I need to be aware of and what would be the likely cost? I’m in North west of UK. Thanks for any help

Hire a reliable driveway installer he should know exactly what to do. It is as simple as cut brick wall with steelsaw to where you like to. Take a sledge or breaker to demolish the remaining wall you do not want, when cutting with steel saw take it back an extra brick or two so it can be finished with laying a few extra bricks to achieve a smooth finish on the end of wall then simply break the top of wall foundations showing once you’ve removed the wall, wacker it down top up with hard core if needed then wacker 50ml of sharp sand preferably in 2 goes 25ml a time then you’re ready to lay your pavers and a final wacker with dry kiln sand.😉 hope this helps
