Help re new failed fibreglass roof on shed

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 4.07 PM

Just moved house, inherited large shed with leaking felt roof (DIY job by previous owner) only 3 years old roof is a single ptch surface, but not steep (sorry don't know the terms). Called lots of roofers, only two actually turned up. One quote was over £2k, other less than half. Went with that one - local firm, some good reviews etc. Yes I know you get what you pay for, but whole shed is not worth £2k! Anyhow after he left, giving a written 10 year guarantee, it rained, and next day it was leaking 10 times more than before, with a big puddle on the roof. He's not responding now after I emailed photos. Not paid, and not sure I'd trust him to come back. What are the options for fixing this now? It looks to me like the edging put on to replace the boards has caused a slight raised edge at the back, the lowest point where rain should drain off. Assume the fibreglass cannot be removed. Will try to get someone else out but wondering what can be done?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi, difficult to give an opinion without a site visit or detailed photos, also you shouldn’t have a big puddle on the roof if the pitch has been done correctly. I would post a new job to get this work done, or put right. Also depending on your location I would be happy to have a look for you

Fibreglass can be cut out and repaired however sounds like he hasn't put a fall on the roof. Would have to be redone unfortunatly.
