Siemens RWB27Si Timeswitch - boiler not activating

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.53 PM

Hi, when I switch on my RWB27Si Timeswitch, linked to my Poetterton Performa 28 Combi boiler, the red light on the Timeswitch is going on, however the boiler is not activating. When I run the shower the thermometer indicator on the boiler does not start to light up as it would do normally. The Green power indicator on the boiler goes on, but the red light for the hot water indicator fails to do so. I have checked the boiler pressure and it is fine, comfortably within the green indicator range. I have pressed the reset button on the RWB27Si but the issue is still there. Not sure if this is a fault with the Timeswitch, the boiler, or both?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hello, from experience I’d say it’s the timer switch as the small electrical connections break down over time, Hope this helps

Hello I would Disconnect the time switch from the boiler wiring harness, ues a link wire to check if the boiler works fine without the external control and that should tell you if it's the timeswitch or the boiler. Hope that was some help to you.

I feel that potentially fault with boiler as hot water is not controlled by timer hot water is on demand with combination boilers

if the hot water is not working i.e shower not working , then its nothing to do with the time-switch that only controls the heating
