Fencing

Building a fence on our land when the boundary fence has a covenant

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.53 PM

Hi, wonder if anyone could help. We have a covenant on our garden fences stating that they cannot be higher than 4ft 6inches. Could we build a taller fence on our own land that runs alongside the boundary fence?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Depending on area you can install a fence 1. From the existing Boundary Or you would have to apply to planning to build. Alternatively temporary fencing ie trellis or hurdles could work.

You can install the fence from the existing boundary line or you would have to have some sort off panning permission

You need to check with the council if there are any height restrictions on fencing , you should be able to put a 2.1m high fence on your land inside boundary kence
