Hi,
I would suggest a replacement as fixing old garage doors is a never ending process.
Would you be interested in a motorised sectional garage door? I can get a price for a made to measure sectional metal insulated garage door.

Yes, a wooden garage door can be repaired, depending on the extent of the damage. Here are some steps you can take to repair cosmetic issues:
Clean the door: Start by cleaning the wooden door to remove any dirt or debris. Use a mild detergent and water solution to gently scrub the surface. Rinse thoroughly and let it dry completely.
Sanding: If there are scratches, dents, or rough areas on the door, you can sand them down to create a smoother surface. Use fine-grit sandpaper and sand in the direction of the wood grain. Take care not to oversand or remove too much of the wood.
Fill gaps and cracks: If there are any small gaps or cracks in the wood, you can use a wood filler or putty to fill them in. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for the specific product you're using. Once it's dry, sand the filled areas to ensure a smooth finish.
Repaint or stain: Depending on the condition of the existing finish, you may need to repaint or restain the door. Choose a paint or stain that is suitable for exterior wood surfaces and matches the desired aesthetic. Apply the paint or stain according to the manufacturer's instructions, and allow it to dry completely between coats.
If the damage to the wooden garage door is extensive or beyond repair, it may be necessary to replace the door. In such cases, you have a few options:
DIY replacement: If you're comfortable with DIY projects and have the necessary tools and skills, you can attempt to replace the door yourself. This involves removing the existing door, measuring and purchasing a new one, and installing it according to the manufacturer's instructions. Keep in mind that this can be a complex task, so it's important to have a clear understanding of the process before attempting it.
Hire a professional: If you're not confident in your ability to replace the garage door yourself, it's best to hire a professional. They have the expertise and experience to ensure the door is installed correctly and safely. They can also assist in selecting the right door for your needs and provide recommendations based on your budget and preferences.
It's important to assess the condition of the door and consider your own skills and resources before deciding whether to repair or replace it. If you're unsure or uncomfortable with the process, it's advisable to consult with a professional for guidance and assistance.

As it is breeze blocked internally I would remove the rotten garage door and build a garage door, so it still looks like a garage but the “door” would be fixed.
