Can't get window to slightly lock on ventilation lock

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.51 PM

Hi, Had new upvc window put in last year and only just noticed that I can't get the to lock on the part where it's slightly open instead of fully locked. If that makes sense. I've looked and can't figure it out. Is there away of adjusting the window somehow so the bars slide into both locking sections? Sorry there's no technical information in there. Thanks

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Good afternoon, I would say the window is binding and not getting into the fully closed position to engage lock. Thanks

Without looking hard to tell But I would say window sash has been fitted to high and the locking mushrooms are catching on the lock keeps Hope this helps

It depends on the window system. Most flush systems don't have a night vent option.

It all depends how it is fitted or manufactured. If it is not aligned properly then you will have that issue of not being able to lock it in that position you ask. If it is done right, then you just have to find that sweet spot where it will stay locked and slightly open. Do that by pushing and pulling the sash and trying handle slowly until it locks in position. Hope it helps
