Removal of large aircon unit. Making good the brickwork/plaster
Anonymous user 11/03/2024 - 2.30 PM
I don't know which tradesman would do this job. The Aircon unit is on an outside wall so that will need to be removed and there will be two holes that will need re-bricking on the outside and the cavities filled ready for plastering.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

As general builders specialising in brickwrork, we would be able to take care of the Brickwork, removal of unit and plastering. Any decent general builder should be able to take care of this for you hope this helps.

For the removal of the large air conditioning unit and the subsequent repair of the brickwork and plaster, you will likely need to hire multiple tradespeople. Here are the professionals who can handle each aspect of the job:
HVAC Technician: You will need an HVAC technician to properly disconnect and remove the air conditioning unit. They will ensure that the unit is safely disconnected from the electrical supply and any necessary refrigerant lines. HVAC technicians are experienced in handling air conditioning units and will have the expertise to remove it without causing damage to the surrounding structure.
Bricklayer: Once the air conditioning unit is removed, you will need a skilled bricklayer to repair the holes left in the exterior wall. The bricklayer will be able to replace the bricks in the affected areas, matching them as closely as possible to the existing ones. They will also ensure that the new bricks are properly bonded and integrated with the surrounding brickwork.
Plasterer: After the brickwork is restored, a plasterer will be required to make the repaired areas blend seamlessly with the rest of the wall. The plasterer will apply a suitable plastering material to create a smooth and even finish. They will ensure that the repaired sections are indistinguishable from the rest of the wall, both in terms of texture and color.
It's important to hire experienced and reputable professionals in each trade to ensure high-quality workmanship. You can search for local HVAC technicians, bricklayers, and plasterers in your area or consider contacting a general contractor who can manage the entire project and coordinate the necessary tradespeople for you.
