It really depends on Their skill set and background for example- I am happy to under most jobs but when It comes to specialist Jobs ie roofing or extensive plumbing + installing windows or electrical job like adding junction boxes and wiring up a house these jobs a best left to the trades people who specialise In those areas(as they do these works every day). Always ask your handyman what background they have and ask for examples of work, if they are genuine they will no doubt be happy to share their experiences.

A handyman is a skilled individual who is proficient in performing a variety of small to medium-sized tasks or odd jobs around the house or workplace. They typically have a wide range of skills and can handle various maintenance, repair, and installation tasks. Here are some examples of jobs that often fall under the domain of a handyman: General home repairs: Fixing leaky faucets, repairing broken windows, patching drywall, or fixing squeaky doors. Carpentry: Installing shelves, repairing or building furniture, installing molding or trim, and minor woodworking tasks. Plumbing: Fixing minor plumbing issues like leaky pipes or faucets, unclogging drains, or installing new fixtures. Electrical work: Replacing light fixtures, installing ceiling fans, fixing outlets or switches, or handling minor electrical repairs. Painting: Touching up paint, painting small rooms or areas, or applying new coats of paint to surfaces. Assembly: Putting together furniture, installing shelves or cabinets, or assembling equipment or appliances. Maintenance tasks: Regular maintenance tasks like gutter cleaning, pressure washing, or seasonal yard cleanup. Installation: Mounting TVs, installing curtain rods, hanging pictures or mirrors, or installing window blinds. Flooring: Repairing or replacing damaged tiles, installing laminate flooring, or resealing grout. Miscellaneous tasks: Assisting with moving furniture, organizing spaces, or performing other odd jobs as requested. Finding a reliable handyman can sometimes be challenging. It's often helpful to ask for referrals from friends, family, or neighbors who have used a handyman's services in the past. Additionally, online platforms and local directories often list handymen available in your area. When hiring a handyman, make sure to discuss the specific tasks you need help with and inquire about their experience and pricing structure.

Mybuilder makes finding a handyman very easy. Once you have a job in mind and post it up you will likely see handymen respond to your job. You will then be able to see what other categories those tradesmen have selected in their profile. This will give you an idea of the type of work they carry out regularly. There are lots of jobs that can be done around the house/garden with little to no qualifications but, to be done right, it does take a great deal of experience and logical thinking to perform.

Perhaps the problem is not the definition of a handyman so much as the small jobs. With every job, the tradesperson has to travel to the location, quote for the job, normally return another day to do the job, visit a store to buy materials for the job, invoice and process payment. The job isn't just the work done in your home but the travel and paperwork as well. This extra part of the job takes the same amount of time for a large or small job. This makes larger jobs more profitable. A busy tradesperson will often favour larger jobs because they are running a business and large jobs are more profitable. Could you bundle several small jobs together to entice a handyman to quote? Alternatively, depending on how small these jobs are, sometimes charities such as age concern and neighbourcare have volunteers who will do very small jobs around the house.

Minor plumbing repairs, like fixing leaks, replacing faucets, or unclogging drains. 4. Electrical work, such as installing light fixtures, replacing switches. 5.
