Run water (clean and grey) to shed 10 m away

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.46 PM

Hi, I want to move the washing machine to the shed, that's about a 10 m away (pipe length). The problem will be the water, there is a tap outdoors but the grey water will need to be sent back to the house to drain. The terrain is flat so will the washing machine be able to pump the grey water back or do I need some inline booster pump, greywater pump or sump pump help?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

You will be fine as it is, unless you are running the waste uphill, definitely not higher than the washing machine.

The waste water will need a fall all the way to the drain as water & sediment will constantly sit in the pipe and eventually cause a blockage.

You’ll put a lot of work /pressure on the pump in a washing machine would be safer looking for a small sump and pump for long term . Life expectancy would be short with running it back to the house.
