Screeding to level up for new tiles with wet UFH
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.52 PM
I currently have tiles down on the kitchen floor which are laid over wet UFH. They are not level so may need screeding, how does this affect the UFH and would it make life harder in the future should I n ed to get to the UFH pipes for any reason?

If your planning on screeding the ufh. It’s recommended to have a 10mm depth of screed before putting tiles down. As for the pipes there should be no joins under the screed so unless a pipe is damaged, there’s no requirement for access to the pipes

There should be more than 30 mm screed otherwise it will crack & break up

Hi,
If you already have screeds on the floor and not level, it ideal to lay few bags of self leveling g compound as they are covering all un even surfaces. Then you can put any types of UFH you like and bo worry at all.
I hope this answered your question.
