Whole house heating regulator - Aera - worth keeping on?

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.51 PM

Hi there, We moved into a house with an Aera system just before Christmas. I'm wondering if it's actually doing any good & is worth keeping. In the winter it blasts very cold air around so we turned it off. Since the warmed weather we've turned it back on (we live on a busy road, so hoping it helps with air quality?). Having done some research I'm now guessing the heat exchanger is gone & the filters must need changing. Sadly the owners didn't leave us any instructions & the system is discontinued. I'm struggling to find an engineer who can help. Looking for answers to two questions really. 1. Is it worth keeping switched on - do they do anything? 2. If they are a good system & worth getting serviced, what kind of engineer can help me? Many thanks in advance! Sophia

Appliances that are made obsolete are normally found to be inefficient in one way or another. But if you want to keep it for sentimental value an air con engineer would be your best shout.
