Fuse box 10 ft up wall and not reachable - what are options?

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.51 PM

The fuse box in my Victorian flat is located about 10 foot up the wall - does there exist some kind of long pole that you can flick the switches up or down as needed that I can attach to the wall next to it - I can’t seem to find anything online?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

You could contact your local electrician & discuss your problem, there may be scope to extend the cabling, installing another fuseboard lower, but obviously it would depend on cost etc hope this helps

I would advice against using a pole to flick the breaker because turning off might be easy but try turning it back on will not be so easy. I would consider a new board change if money permits.

A ladder is your best option. If the fuse is flicking off regularly then you should have an electrician take a look.
