Chunk missing on the corner of bedroom wall

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.34 PM

We have a chunk of plaster missing on the corner of our bedroom wall after it being hit by Henry the hoover multiple times, would skimming be enough to fix this? It is down to the mesh.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hi Dana if it is down to the mesh as you wrote, it sounds like the damage is down to the metal profile bead which is installed to give an aesthetically good clean finish to the corner and also gives some protection to the edges. To remedy, all damaged areas would need to be cut out and renewed with the relevant material approx 6 inches either side of the edge in order to give it strength. It would be advisable to then protect the corner with some additional protection as it will happen again over time with the same use of the vacuum cleaner.
