Should i be able to see the roofing felt and eaves tray?
Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 3.01 PM
I've just had new fascias and guttering installed and I've noticed the roofing felt and eaves tray is visible which I couldn't see before. The old guttering was a different type to the new guttering so I'm not sure if this makes a difference. Is the slope of the guttering causing it to be visible? Here's a picture - https://imgur.com/a/UEBznjU Is this to be expected and can anything be done to make it less visible?

they have probably either not pushed the fascia boards high enough up or fitted the wrong size fascia's, this can cause the bottom tile to drop down allowing wind driven rain to be pushed under the roof tiles, without looking at the job in question its really impossible to say exactly what they have done. The only thing that can be done is remove and refit the fascia correctly you would most likely damage the fascia board on removal.
good luck Alex

Need pics to confirm but I would say fascia not in correct place and guttering has been set to low
You will know when it rains if all the water misses the guttering

Some roofers still overhang felt by 50mm instead of it being flush with eave tray,it does sound like the gutters are to low tho,you shouldn't really be able to see eave trays

There is always a slight fall on guttering but not excessive enough to definitely not see felt and very little tray at one end possible see the tiles right through
