Weird gas pipe can’t fit cooker

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 4.07 PM

I have a long gas pipe coming from out the floor where a cooker should go. It is 5cm away from wall and stands at 50cm high! I can not fit a cooker with out it sticking out around 5cm from Cupboards. I want an electric cooker but won’t fit!

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Check with a gas safe fitters to see if the pipe can me moved or adjusted anyway, get them to follow it if it can. Don't work on a gas pipe yourself.

Gas pipe will need to be adjusted and capped closer to the meter, please be sure to get a gas safe professional to carry out the works.

You need to contact a gas safe engineer. They should be able to adjust and cap it off so that you can fit a new electric cooker into the space. You can find gas safe engineers on the gas safe website.
