Extractor hood not working after blown fuse

Anonymous user 17/03/2024 - 2.30 PM

Hi. I was turning on the light on my kitchen extractor hob, when it went bang. The fuse had blown in the fuse box and I reset it. I replaced the bulb in the hob, but neither the light nor the extractor fan is working. Could it be a fuse in the fan motor that has blown too?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

It’s perhaps the fused spur feeding your extractor fan. They are most often found behind the chimney above the fan. You often need a small screwdriver to pop open the fuse holder (you don’t need to unscrew anything). It’ll be pretty clear when you find it.

Just to add to the answer given, the switched fused spur can also be found near the hood above the kitchen worktop. That's where I install them.
