Remedy for swelling of lacquered strip wood flooring after washing machine leak
Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.50 PM
Hello I had a washing machine leak yesterday evening and the lacquered strip wood flooring in an area in the hallway got soaked. There was water underneath which you could here when you walk on it. And some of the strip wood has started to swell up. Is there a way to get the swelling down as the wood dries up? Any suggestions are appreciated. Update: Having inspected the next day swelling has gone down and water underneath seeped away (imagine it is still moist underneath). Some of strip wood edges has risen up (i'd say 2-3mm max) and will not press down. I was thinking perhaps applying gentle pressing with a mallet, but is it best to do this now or after a few days once it has dried more thoroughly? Thanks.
