Fitting a woodturning stove in a new property
Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 3.01 PM
Hi, I'm in the process of buying a new-ish house (4 years old) which has no fireplace. I would like to install a woodturning stove fitted which will include obviously installing the stove and running the flue out through the wall etc. I'm curious about the costs involved.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Depending on style options and finishing products you choose aesthetically you will be looking around£4000 all in plus if you decide to have a more traditional chimney breast/media wall you could be looking more like £5000
Hope this helps

You will need to have a twin wall flue system installed, depending on height and pitch of roof, and how many bends are needed to could be looking at a cost of about £2500.00 just for supply and installation of the flue, not includeding the stove or hearth, depending on floor type wood etc you could either go with a 12mm glass hearth or slate, cost for these inline can be between £200 and £300.
And bottom end stoves start at £550.00 and then up, depending on style, your choice and brand.

The cost for this would be between 4-6 thousand pounds, bare in mind also that you will also need an air vent in room because its a new build.
