Unvented hot water cylinder - leak from tundish and overflow

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 4.07 PM

Hello Had a new unvented hot water cylinder installed in Feb Range Tribune TI180 Unvented Indirect Cylinder. Is leaking from the tundish normal after just a few months of installation? It is also leaking from the overflow. Also only getting about 5mins of hot water after which is luke warm no matter how long I put the hot water on for. Should I be concerned that installation was not done right and now needs fixing or is all this normal after a few months of installation? Thanks Update: the installer did show me his G3 Certificate. Thanks for your responses.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Sounds like the system has not been commissioned properly, possible have a bubble top unvented cylinder if this is the case the cylinder will need to be drained to re instate the bubble, this could explain why the TPRV is dripping through to the tundish and a lack of hot water, Hope this helps :-)

no this is not normal, was it installed by a g3 registered plumber ? ,water passing through tundish means the temperature and pressure relief valve has lifted, turn it all off and contact installer to come and sort it out, make sure he is g3 qualified ,do not just take his word for it, insist on seeing his certificates.
