In general, when installing a stone resin shower tray with a riser kit, it is not necessary to bed the tray into sand and cement. The riser kit should provide sufficient support and allow for easy installation. Typically, the riser kit will consist of adjustable legs or a plinth that can be adjusted to level the shower tray and provide a stable base. The legs or plinth are usually fixed directly to the floor or subfloor, and the shower tray is then placed on top and secured in place. Before installing the shower tray and riser kit, it's important to ensure that the floor is level and free from any debris or uneven surfaces that could affect the stability of the tray. It's also important to follow the manufacturer's instructions for installation and use the recommended materials and tools.

If the riser kit you bought is a leg set so the shower tray sits off the floor you don't have to set it on sand & cement..if its going on a wooden floor you will need to put down & screw 18mm ply over the span of your shower tray so the legs sit on the ply, this gives it more stability. If the shower tray is going direct on the wooden floor your need to screw down 12mm ply (min) then put down a sand/cement mix, this allows the shower tray to bed to it with no air pockets.

As long as the base is solid the riser kit will be adequate as long as it was purchased with the tray as some trays are not designed for riser kits.
