Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.45 PM

I am have great issues challenging my Developer To Address Issues Regarding The Roof ( leaks due to tiles not fitted properly, the incorrect cement used and roofing buttons not fitted to the end of the property. The Developer refuses to provide certificates, details of the roofer, and the clerk of works states they have been told not to give me the details, because am not their Clerk of Works Customer, The Developer is . Am I entitled `to this information? Other houses on the develoment are experiencing the same. I got an independent roofer to make good some work, but he states that it should never have been signed off , and needs to be stripped back and re fitted . The Developers Are Not Complying With NHBC Fully . Please Can You Help ?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

This is an awkward situation really, I know the job was probably urgent and this should have never have happened in the first place but I would imagine this could be used against you now as you have had someone else another company putting right the wrongs, I do hope this is not the case and wish you all the best getting this issue resolved

You need to contact the NHBC and ask them for advice and they will send someone out to look over your property

Find out how long the NHBC have insured the property for. Take photos and explain the incompetence . Re-price job to amend the issues and present to the quote to the developers developers. Threaten legal actions.

It is always easy to tell someone to get a Solicitor, but in this Case not sure a solicitor will or can help her, they can try , but with theses big cooperation that’s going be drag out for many months or years and sometimes it’s doesn’t worth the hassle, best advice i can give is Claim on your insurance , let the insurance company deal with the Developers or just get a tradesman in fix the problem and lay it to rest, or sell the property and move on
