LVT on chipboard flooring.

Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 3.01 PM

Converted my garage & the floor was raised using chipboard flooring panels to bring in line with the hall floor. Can LVT flooring be laid over this, or will the screed damage the floor underneath?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

You can use a flexible screed over chipboard but use a primer first. Alternatively, Install a layer of 6mm plywood to the chipboard and adhere the LVT to this.

The floor will need to have sp101 floor grade ply. Ordinary ply may delaminate if screened over look at lvt click as an alternative
