Who do I call to create vent from bathroom extractor fan out of loft to the outside
Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 3.00 PM
I have a wetroom fitted on first floor below the loft. The extractor fan is fitted into the wetroom ceiling and blowing into the loft. I need to install/ fit a duct or pipe to take air out of wetroom through the loft to the outside. Who do I call? A plumber? A builder? I need a roof vent or a capped vent but which tradesmen do I call for the job? Many thanks

You should call a roofer as they would put a roof vent in which connects to the fan via a duct

A multi trade skills handyman will be able to fit your vent tile and a duct pipe

You can get either a vented tile to go on the roof, not very hard to do.
Or, depending on the house location (end of terrace, semi-detached or detached) you could go straight out the wall, again not very hard to do.
Any of these would know how, plumber, electrician, roofer (possibly), tiler or a general handyman 👍🏻

A roofer is an option all be it the most expensive one, most properties can take a vent through the facia boards or the brick and this can be done by a builder, plumber or electrician
