50mm hole in basin what size waste?

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 4.06 PM

Hi. I bought a basin from Turkey to use as a countertop bathroom sink. The hole for the waste is 50mm diameter and I’m wondering if it’s ok to use a standard bathroom basin plug and waste or if, as they are about 60mm, they are too small and I need to find something larger. Thanks

Hi there, I think you want a 50mm basin or a kitchen waste, please see: https://www.plumbers-mate-sales.co.uk/slotted-2-inch---50mm-chrome-sink-waste-with-plug---74000489-2020-p.asp you would also need the 2” to 1 1/2” adapter it recommends then you can use a standard 40mm trap. Also this may do it if you can look at one of these in screwfix and measure it, howdens also may have suitable sized waste kit : https://www.amazon.co.uk/MCALPINE-KITCHEN-SINK-WASTE-PLUG/dp/B00RI3DD92/ref=asc_df_B00RI3DD92/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=232007754445&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=9970982873828281900&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9046313&hvtargid=pla-421761307365&psc=1
