Immersion cylinder or Sunamp hot water battery?
Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.50 PM
Hi, we have just had solar panels and batteries fitted to our bungalow, 5KW Solar, 10KW of battery. We would like to make to make full use of the solar energy we can now generate to heat our water in the house as much as is possible. Would you recommend an immersion cylinder or something like the Sunamp hot water battery? (An Eddi has already been installed with electrics in to the loft space. The loft space gets VERY hot in summer.)
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

I would recommend a invented hot water cylinder if space is an issue horizontal and vertical are both options and have the immersion fed via a "solar iboost+" or similar product this will also ensure there is a back up via a boiler if the panels don't ever generate enough to heat the hot water fully.
