Loft boards any tips please.

Any tips about fitting in loft boards?

Good morning! If your going to be boarding your loft it may be worth checking you have insulation of 250-300mm before hand to save on energy bills. Installation of the boards would be to use a T&G chipboard that’s slide together using pva and 60mm+ screws (be careful for any pipes/cables that you could potentially drill through) hope this helps.

Hello, I would definitely recommend getting masks before starting the works, as it gets very dusty in a loft when installing new insulation as-well when boarding the loft.

A lot depends on the size of your ceiling joists. If they are less than 100mm depth I would advise to cross batten on top of joists with 75mmx50 mm. Then fix your t&g chipboard P5 flooring.
