Thermostat wiring options

Hi, we moved into our new build flat 11 years ago. At the time the combi boiler was a Sime and the thermostat was a battery operated Sime thermostat with a receiver unit connected to the boiler. The boiler gave us nothing but trouble and we got it replaced with a Worcester Bosch Greenstar 8000 a couple of years ago. When they replaced it they installed a new Honeywell T3R thermostat and receiver unit. The thermostat is playing up though, it keeps resetting and wont talk to the receiver unit until you go through the time/date setup so looking at replacing it. Behind the old Sime thermostat (it's still on the wall) there's four wires in a grey flex. It's never been used so I can't see what colour the wires are. And next to the boiler, just below the power cable for the boiler, there's a blue wire and brown wire in a grey flex connected to one end of a wire connector and nothing on the other end. Does this sound like it's set up for a mains powered thermostat and that the four wires would be brown and black for the switched live and the other two wires would provide the power for the thermostat. Does this sound right?
