Electricity not working to cooker and fridge freezer

To answer both questions - 'Is this a simple thing to fix (like changing a fuse in the socket)? Or do I really need to get an electrician out?' Might be yes or no to the first - but its definitely yes to the second - get an electrician out as sockets don't usually have 'fuses' (although I have seen one that used this) and the likelihood of both plugged in items failing by fuse in the plug is rare. Just an idea though - plug something else in and see if that comes on? also make sure the consumer unit has all the breakers in the 'on' position - if unsure look up consumer units on you tube and how to operate them. My cooker and fridge freezer are connected to the same socket, and neither of them is working.....alarm bells on 1st sentence!!!
