Not hot water after replacing single mixer tap by dual tap

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.51 PM

I just had bathroom refitted but there is no hot water from basin tap. The reason is that I went from dual mixer tap to single. Water is coming from old kettle/electric heater. However, it was working fine with dual taps. Is there anything I can do to improve hot water supply (was not thinking of replacing electric heater)? Shall I revert to dual basin tap although this might not be feasible or practical?

It could be a blockage or check if all services valve are working properly and fully open. Also it could be the tap ! Depends on the gland / make ! Some glands can reduce the flow.

if it worked ok with mixer taps this is most likely a blockage in tap or pipework.

This doesn't sound like any problem with your water heater seen as you only the bathroom and if the other hot water taps in the house are fine that says it's the one tap with the problem. Now these new taps come with flexible connection and some times they get twisted during installation so I would look for that also like someone else said check the isolation valve is open correctly then other than that it's the tap it's self is faulty
