No hot water from shower that runs from a combi boiler
Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.49 PM
I have shower that runs from the combi boiler. When I use it no longer 'calls' for hot water from the boiler. I have checked the boiler with the shower running and hot water indicator light is not on. I have run the hot tap on the bath and that works. The shower is about 15 years old as it come to the end of its life?

you should check if there is a filter in hot service on shower valve,it could be blocked, or it could be the thermostatic cartridge in valve, as it is 15 years old it may well be best to change it.

"It is likely that the shower is reaching the end of its life and may need to be replaced. A shower that is not calling for hot water from the combi boiler can be caused by various factors, such as a malfunctioning thermostatic valve, a broken diverter valve, or a failed pump. An experienced plumber can diagnose the issue and determine if the shower needs to be replaced or if a repair is possible. It's also a good idea to consider installing a new, more energy-efficient shower to improve water and energy efficiency."
