Ceiling paint is flaking and peeling off in bathroom
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.45 PM
Hi we had our bathroom ceiling painted only 4 months ago with satin paint, but in the shower area the paint had started peeling and flaking off. We have a fan and a big window in the bathroom. Can anyone suggest something please. Thanks

It seems like your new ceiling was not primed properly to seal the new plaster and give a sound bonding surface for top coat
Scrape off paint and prime before painting with 2 coats of topcoat

Satin paint is a mid-sheen paint that can be used for walls, woodwork and ceilings. It’s more durable than matte paint but less durable than gloss.
Painting with satin paint the surfice should be dry and clean ,
and paint the ceiling or the wall with a primer sealer before painting with satin paint.

1st of all you shouldn't use satin paint for a bathroom celing. You need to scrape off the flakes, refill the and make good, primer the whole celing then get dulux bathroom paint and give it 2 coats.
