Best way to surface a 240sqm drive/car park?

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.45 PM

Hi everyone, the job in question is a 240sqm space that is shared by 4 homes it’s a access drive and car park, all homeowners have agreed it needs sorting out as it’s in a bad state (overgrown grass and the parts that are concreted are damaging our cars as it’s got potholes) long story short it needs doing. What would be the best way of doing this? Need something hardwearing and low maintenance? And needless to say needs to be affordable. I was thinking tarmac would be the cheapest option that is hardwearing and clean looking? Any other advice.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

I would go with block paving personally as they can be swapped if you get oil leaks, a crumbled block when compared to tarmac. if you have to repair a section getting the same colour would be impossible. Block paving offers a wide range of colours and styles and quite effective. We have done many shared driveways in block paving which worked really well and all parties happy. Some clients split it equally whereas we have done it as per the boundary lines due to one client owning more of the driveway than others.

Monoblock is more sensible . less expensive and when you see tarmac on roads or driveways now a days always needs repaired after a short time as quality is not so good as it was. No pot holes with monoblock.
