Can I build porch which connects to neighbours wall?
Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.45 PM
One side of the fully enclosed brick porch would connect to neighbours house as their house is approximately 1 meter protruding further forward than ours, or do I need to leave a gap? It’s a Mid terrace house.

You would need to get a party wall agreement from your neighbour to do this which would grant you permission if all your plans meet building regs.

This can be done but you would need a party wall agreement put in place with the neighbour concerned, and if adjoining then building regs should come into play.

If the porch is over 3m2 in size you would also need planning permission before work can begin.
