Removed pigs ear handrail, unsure best way to repair wall?
Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 3.00 PM
Hi, I have removed a pigs ear handrail from the wall and it has obviously left some damage behind on the full run of where is was installed. Unsure on best way to tackle this? Everything loose it removed and now ready to go. Thanks, Josh.

hi josh, you say everything loose has been removed. how far back has the damage gone? if you see brick you will need to remove dust from the area to ensure best adhesion by using a diluted pva soultion. Then fill out the area to roughly 3 mm from the finished surface with a backing coat plaster. AKA BONDING /BROWNING
if you have just removed old skim you will be able to pva the area and apply your finish coat plaster / filler depending on your choice.
hope this helps
