Who would we ask to brick up a fireplace and install an LED electric fire

Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 3.00 PM

We have an old fireplace which currently has in it a twenty year old gas fire. The gas fire is designed to look like an open coal fire. We want to replace this with an electric fire with LED flames. At the same time we want to remove the surround and mantle so that we can out in a larger wall mounted television. I suspect this is a pretty standard job these days. Is this project something that can be done with one contract: removing the existing gas fire, mantel piece and surround; bricking up the resulting fireplace; installing the LED electric fire; installing the TV. Or are we looking at doing this step by step?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

You need a gas safe engineer to remove gas fire. Then I would get a builder in to do the rest. Just gas safe folks charge a lot.

You need a gas safety engineer out to remove the gas fire then you will need a builder to do what ever brickwork you need done then probably an electrician to install the electric fire
