Repair plaster/silicon around bathroom window frame indoors
Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 3.00 PM
Hi, I have had some flaking plaster due to humidity in bathroom. Took out the old plaster in places around the frame including the beading and dried the room out with heat. It’s dried out well good now. Is it ok to use Everbuild Everflex 195 Premium | Siliconised Acrylic Sealant around the frame and to replace the plaster instead of polyfilla? Would I need to PVA first even if it’s dried good? Says 195 sealant can be painted over. Thanks

You should always use PVA.

You need to apply PVA mixed as a 1 part water to two parts PVA, to allow it soak into porous plaster and then to allow it to dry before plastering.
