Water leakage in Loft Cupboard

There appears to be some element of condensation (water ingress) on the pitched roof plasterboard internal ceiling (not plastered) within the loft cupboard space From recent observations, this occurs when there are very cold temperatures (ice or snow conditions) but doesn’t occur when it rains. This has been a pattern over the past few days. I have pictures but can’t post these within this question. I will gladly appreciate if someone amongst you knowledgeable tradesmen could furnish me with a simple explanation regarding the reason for this condensation. The roof had just been constructed as part of a loft conversion last year.

Needs ventilation, ie, vented tiles , you should already have breathable felt if it’s a new roof but sometimes that’s not enough

Hi, it sounds like there is a lack of ventilation like the other builder mentioned. I would also like to add that there seems to be an issue with cold bridging or a lack of insulation! Internal moisture is turning into consideration which means it's a cold 🥶 spot! I'm assuming that the roof was/has been insulated and a VCL (Vapour control layer) Installation has been applied. You need to get someone to investigate further and make sure there's adequate cross ventilation as this should not happen on a newly done roof. Best of luck

You need to make sure you have the correct insulation/and depth of insulation. You need to stop hot and cold air meeting. Also depending on what felt they have used it could also need ventilation, hard to say without seeing it. Numerous possibilities.
