Soil Vent Pipe Size

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.50 PM

Does an internal soil vent pipe have to be 4 inch? Or can it be 3 inch, or even 2inch? Thanks.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Regulations say 4 inch but 3 inch used to be ok but not any longer, if you have a 3” stack and you don’t want to change it then don’t worry it will be ok until you do some renovation work that requires a building inspection, 2” (50mm) is only suitable for baths/showers/appliances and sinks in a dementia property but you find this is only used if the run from the fixture is too long. Hope this helps
