Damp Proofing

Can I fit water pipes on top of damp proof membrane on my kitchen wall?

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.49 PM

I am going to fit some damp proof membrane to the walls of my kitchen and in the renovation works I am also re-routing some water pipes along this wall. Is it okay to fix these pipes to the wall? Or is there a safe way to fix them without piercing the membrane?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

You could put the pipes inside plastic trunking which you can stick to the wall. Hides the pipes and looks ok.

Go to Delta Membranes , they have waterproof plugs that can be safely inserted into membrane , they have a screw hole in them for you to fix a bracket .

If you was to drill them to the wall with brackets you would puncture the damp proof membrane you could use trunking with adhesive behind it and then stick it to the wall.

You don't want to drill your membrane . Fit pipe clips to floor instead, or grip fill them too your wall 24 hrs before, then ready to use. Hamiltons maintenance
