Install steps to access sunken area outside London townhouse

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.32 PM

We live in a Victorian maisonette in Stoke Newington where there is a 'sunken' area outside our house that we currently can't access as there is no way to get down there. We're looking into getting some steps installed so we can store our bikes down there. It's probably 1.5 metres down from street level. Most properties on our road have some stairs/steps so they can access the area. Does anyone know which type of tradesperson would be best equipped to do this (I asked this under 'stonemasonry' but may be something different), and how much it should cost approximately? Cheers, Harry

Without pictures it's hard to say but more than likely the most cost effective method would be a steel staircase made to suit. So welders and steel fabrication......I'd recommend Tony Perry Ltd In Great Dunmow, Essex. Install nationwide

Hi Metal / iron steps would probably work , so a ironworker could be your man . Avoid decking steps , slippy and short lived ! Peter R
