Plastering & Rendering

had a room plastered but the interior corners are not great. Can this be fixed?

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.44 PM

I recently had my living room skimmed - most of it is ok, but some walls are not as flat/smooth as the rest. Some areas are bumpy when touched and some areas feel rough. The interior corners and corners where the wall meets the ceiling are also not as neat as I’d like them to be. I was wondering if this can be fixed. For example, can i apply easy filler to the interior corners to straighten them up? Also, is this job of a plasterer to get this ‘perfect’/flush, or is this the job of the decorator to neaten up later? Thanks

This should be but right by the plasterer you have used by the sound of it they have not twitched in the corners while applying the second coat of plaster. This can be solved with easy fill depending on how rough or bumpy the background if this was my home and a plasterer has done this your best result would be to contact them and get them to come and rectify the problems.

Yes, this can be resolved by appointing a good plasterer or decorator. A good job from the start wouldn't need further smoothing, or excessive filling.

I would call the plasterer who done the job to come and rectify the job as they didn’t sanded properly

Normally shouldn’t be any feeling bumps left from plasterer. If it’s, you can apply easy filler easy and sand easily

I would definitely call the plasterer back to rectify the work, if this is not possible then make sure to mist coat before applying any filler otherwise the filler will dry to quick and start to blow.
