How to secure a vertical radiator on a dot and dab wall

Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 3.00 PM

I am looking to install a large vertical radiator on a dot and dab wall. The radiator will weigh approximately 50kg without water and the plasterboard is 25mm insulated board with brickwork behind it. The surface of the plasterboard is approximately 65mm from the brickwork.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

I would recommend using 100mm frame fixings as the plugs are the same length as the screw

The above will be suffice but a suitable alternative would be Gripit fixings, also can be purchased from Screwfix or tool stations.

Hello, the other methods would work but Phoenix Install is correct, the Corefix fittings have a steel core part to bridge the gap and a picture of a dot and dab example on their website. Also, if you were worried, you can also get feet to rest heavy vertical rads on. All the best.
