Loosing pressure, no leak, no faulty boiler
Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 3.50 PM
Hi, I had a new combi boiler installed in June and since installation the boiler constantly looses pressure after use. I have had the boiler manufacturer out twice to confirm there is no fault. I have used a gas leak detection company who confirmed there are no leaks. But yet I still find that my radiators are needing to be bled multiple times a day and also the boiler needs pressurises after an hour ish of the boiler being in use. Any recommendations would be greatly received ??

Ask the manufacturer to check that the heat exchanger is not losing a small amount of water. Its not a very common problem, infact, its almost unheard of.
The heat exchanger COULD theoretically leak a small amount of water that would go down the condense pipe. This could happen when only in use. It would be almost undetectable, infact, having seen it happen and watched someone repipe an entire house unnecessarily, it can happen.
Expansion vessel could also be too small in the boiler and it needs a secondary vesselcon the system, Check for leaks outside from the safety pipe, keep an eye on the pressure when the heating is on.

If the boiler manufacturer has came out and said theis no issue with the boiler that is like words of gospel, if it was a different boiler cover company then I would be cautious on what they say as the manufacturer will not lie to while the other might.
It must be a leak on the radiators or pipework and the company that you got out to check needs to come back and do a proper investigation
