what tradesman do i need roof or solar?

I had solar panels installed 4 years ago as a gift and have no paperwork. now that i am selling my house its become a problem. i have had to hire an electrician to check the safety of the electrics here including the solar set up to the electrics, now their solicitor want me to get my roof checked out where the solars are. do i need a roofer of an installer of solar panels to do this, surely they just want to know the roof is safe which i am surprised they didn't do when they had the survey done?

Depends what he wants answered, is the roof strong enough to support the panels , are the fitted correctly without compromising the integrity of the water proofing of the roof,
So a structural surveyor who will be able to do both.
It maybe cheaper and easier option to see if you can take out an insurance to cover them.

It all depends on the age of the roof and sometimes it's quite hard to see under the panels, I'm not too sure how it works with the company that supplied and fitted the panels. Do you know if the solar panels are owned now by yourselves or was it some sort of contract with the company? ideally you need to find out who installed them and the terms and conditions.
How old is the property and is it the original roof?
