How to fit flashing to corrugated steel shed wall?
Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.48 PM
I need to attach flashing to the base of my steel shed to prevent water ingress (shed is directly on concrete base which is the cause of the problem), but how do I fill the gaps created with each corrugation to make it watertight ? The gaps would be too big to fill with a silicone type sealant, I have looked at neoprene foam tape but not sure how that would work? Basically a flat surface attached to corrugated surface - how do I fill the gaps to keep it watertight? Any ideas??

Hello Dear
I'm from Rosmani services, and I'll try to help you with this question. If the gaps between the concrete and the steel shed is too big, first of all you'll need to fill up with cement, and when is dry you can add silicone to make it watertight.
Best regards,

Just a waterproof sand and cement fillet around the bottom between the corrugated edge and concrete, mix sbr into the sand and cement and mix sbr with cement paint this slurry on before doing the fillet for adhesion

There is no permanent seal you can create between a solid concrete base and corrugated steel structure.
A upstand should of been fitted first to sit the corrugated structure on.
.
Everything you do will fall.
Unfortunately water will find a way in .

You can get flashing which goes from corrugation to a flat wall it is intended for a plastic route however the correlation is the same once you have this installed you can then silicone between the two and seal it of course that is alternative that you can use a lead flashing

You should have used Brick course underneath the shed frame all the way round on the concrete base, then place the shed on this, then if needed seal the joints between shed and new brick course.
