Render over render
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.32 PM
We have recently had our house krendered and after fitting some external lights the finish is really bad. What are our options? Can we get some to render over the existing render or would it have to be removed and start again?

If the wall is stable you can apply a thin coat render system over it, certainly a cheaper option than removing then re-rendering

Hello, in my experience the best option which would be the best outcome would be to remove the rendering back to the brickwork and unfortunately start again. I would not guarantee that you wouldn't get further issues if you go over their bodged workmanship. Sorry it's not a more positive response, but it's one that would get your project done correctly and would look good.
