Connecting new immersion heater to existing oil fired boiler system.
Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.32 PM
I am hoping to have solar panels installed shortly to supplement the electricity supply into my house. As I currently have a 10year old oil fired boiler for my hot water and heating, I wonder if it is possible to add an immersion heater and tank to the hot water system that could then be powered by the solar panels with a hot water controller?
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

If you are looking for cost savings for hot water i would recommend looking into solar tubes for hot water, you can get an cylinder with a back up immersion heater but primarily heat the water by pumping water from the cistern up to tubes on the roof that get heated by the sun , very efficient and under rated tech have a look online
