POTTERTON POWERMAX HE

Anonymous user 09/03/2024 - 3.31 PM

A01 fault, waterlocked, no heating or hot water, has anyone experienced this? What is the best replacement for the Potterton Powermax HE, without changing the flue, if not possible what would you recommend chnage it to, boiler on floor 2 and flue goes above floor 3 out the slope roof, currently Epc c, if considered electric combi would I look for Epc to reduce, another check isn’t due till 2031. Any advice is appreciated. Do Baxi still repair these boilers? I have taken out D&G repair cover, they are due to come out Monday.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

You cannot and must not use another manufacturers second-hand flue with a new boiler even if it is the same manufacturers boiler you are replacing. The installer will use a new flue system specifically designed for your new boiler, as flue seals may fail over a period of time, the previous poster should know this!

Have a look at Viessmann boilers. Pretty sure they allow you to use any 60/100 flue if it meets current regs. Very good boilers too.

You cannot use the old flue. In reality, unless you go for a boiler with some sort of hw storage you will not have the same delivery as a powermax.
